Hey Apple, why don't you buy Vivo, get out from innovative quagmire and learn something in the process?
If you like animes, then you know who is Alphonse Elric, one of the main characters of Fullmetal Alchemist. If you don't like animes, then I'll summarize it by saying that it is a giant metal armor, with a human soul inside that gives it life.
Well, I am one of those who believes that Steve Jobs was the human soul that moved Apple towards innovation. With the Steve's departure, Apple armor was left empty and the human soul was replaced by a cash register that only knows how to count bills.
And it's not that making money is wrong, on the contrary, it's just that since Steve Jobs passed away, innovation within Apple went to a second or third place. And the few innovative things we see coming out from Cupertino come from small companies that Apple buys to stay in the race.
Today, Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei are on par with Apple in terms of innovation. And companies like Vivo are even ahead of Apple in terms of innovation.
BUY LIVE IS THE KEY
Surely few of you know that Vivo, Oppo and OnePlus are all brands manufactured by the same company: BBK Electronics Corporation. And probably you neither know that BBK is among the leading smartphones manufacturers in the world along with Samsung, Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi.
It is clear that the acquisition of Vivo is not something that Apple can do with just snapping their fingers. We are talking about one of the most powerful companies in the world, although you have never heard about them. However, they can do what they do best: steal the engineers from Vivo.
Apple's design chief, Jony Ive, is very good, but it is evident that he has fallen asleep on his laurels and today he is unable to create something that would even lift us a sigh of emotion. On the other hand, it is evident that there are very capable people in Vivo, and you only have to see the Vivo X20 Plus and the Vivo Apex to understand what I am talking about.
On the other hand, Vivo have achieved it and the truth is that seeing the finger sensor work on screen is something that leaves you saying: WOW!
Personally, I have decided not to update my iPhone 7 Plus until Apple launches something really innovative. And for sure I'm not going to pay 1329€ ($1590) for a phone whose only differentiator with respect to the competition is the possibility of making animated gestures with the camera (animojis). No. I'm an Apple fan, but not so much!
And you, how do you think Apple could get out of the technological quagmire in which it is? Leave us your comments.
